Nature Journalling

January 2022

Nature Journalling Field Trips
with Dr Mike Dickison & Katrina Brown.
To understand nature, you need to observe it. And one of the best ways to observe something is to draw it. A field journal is a powerful tool for observation and learning: a place for sketches, diagrams, notes, and measurements. In these field trips we’ll learn some techniques of seeing and drawing that anyone can practice on their own time to explore the natural world.

Participants will learn pencil sketching, basic watercolour use, 5-minute bird counts, mapmaking, measurement, note-taking, and visual thinking.
