About the event
This is a weekly meetup for youth aged 15 to 19, to arrange getting out into our local bush and walks, and to try new active and outdoor activities together.
We've got speakers lined up and some day trips and overnight walks in mind, so come along and meet some new friends and share your experience or learn new things!
5 April - Jase Blair
10 May - Hernan will talk about the use of a PLB, rescue stories from the helicopter and outdoors first aid.
17 May - Mitch will zoom in. Mitch is an avid whitewater kayaker and all-around adventure enthusiast. After finishing high school in Australia, Mitch moved to New Zealand to study the ‘world renowned’ outdoor programme at Tai Poutini Polytechnic (Greymouth). It was here where he fine tuned his skills and accumulated qualifications in several pursuits including whitewater kayaking, rafting, mountaineering and rock climbing.
