Grandjeans Creek Walk, Greymouth, Bidgood Street, Greymouth 7805, New Zealand
About the event
Experience a local walk at night, and learn about local insects and invertebrates. Dr. Mike Dickison will set up his sheet and light and take for us a walk in the bush while we wait for bugs to come out to the light. We will use equipment to study the bugs.
Registrations are essential, and limited to ten children/youth and their supervising adults (children aged 10 to 12 need to be accompanied by an adult).
Covered shoes you don't mind getting dirty if the ground is wet.
A drink bottle of water/thermos of tea/hot chocolate.
Little stools for sitting on if you have them, not essential.
There’s car parking at the edge of the park on Bidgood Street. Katrina will be there at 9pm to guide the group across the field to the start of the track.
Mike has some spare small USB torches, but the small headlamps are usually the best, and they don’t need to be powerful. Each group/family will need some light to walk across the field.
